The Winter Musicale on Sunday, January 27th, 2019 (program below) is our primary annual fundraising event, a recital followed by a fundraising dinner. Ticket sales cover less than half the cost of our concerts; please join us in making possible our 39th annual Festival season in June 2019!

    Anyone contributing $125 or more per person after August 1, 2018 is welcome to attend.

‘A Happy Hour with Bach’

In our first event of the 2019 season, to introduce this year’s Festival — for which the theme is “J.S. Bach: The Master and His Milieu” — artistic director Elizabeth Blumenstock on violin is joined by soprano Jennifer Ellis Kampani, Baroque oboist Marc Schachman, Baroque trumpeter John Thiessen, violinist Janet Worsley Strauss, violist Andrew McIntosh, cellist Heather Vorwerck, and organist/harpsichordist Ian Pritchard in a delightful program entitled “A Happy Hour with Bach”:

  • Marcello: Concerto for Oboe
     
  • Bach: Aria “Schalfe, mein Liebster”
        from the cantata Laßt uns sorgen, laßt uns wachen,
        BWV 213
     
  • Bach: Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue in D Minor,
        BWV 903
     
  • Bach: Cantata Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen, BWV 51
        for soprano, trumpet, strings and organ
