A Musical Offering
Johann Sebastian Bach’s keyboard masterpiece

Bach’s Das Musikalische Opfer, BWV 1079 — an integrated collection of canons, fugues and other pieces all based on a single musical theme given to him by Frederick the Great — is performed in an arrangement for strings by the Festival chamber ensemble and guest flautist Christopher Matthews.

An evening of chamber delights

A program of Bach sinfonias arranged by Elizabeth Blumenstock for a quintet of strings, flute, and oboe, plus solo and trio sonatas. With Gabriel Arregui, harpsichord; Elizabeth Blumenstock, violin; Timothy Landauer, cello; David Shostac, flute; and Lara Wickes, oboe.
